HYOM Summer Cheer Clinics
Heighten Your Opportunities Madison
Join us for our 2024 summer cheer clinics. These are tailored to specific skills to help you advance and be the best you can be! These clinics are designed so that you can enroll in the clinics you need specifically and bypass the areas you have mastered. From being a beginner or even a seasoned cheerleader there are clinics for everyone! Please view our list below to see all the clinics we are offering.
When enrolling in cheer clinics please ensure that the athlete meets all the requirements listed for the specific clinic. Enrolling an athlete into a higher skill set clinic will not guarantee they will be able to participate. Base skills must be met before advancing to higher skill sets. If the base skill set is not reached the athlete will not be participating. This is to ensure the safety of all athletes and instructors.
These cheer clinics are designed to advance and improve specific skill sets. All athletes must be willing participants and ready to learn. We will not enforce the participation of the athlete. This will ensure that the time allotted for the cheer clinic is spent advancing and improving skills, not encouraging athletes to participate. Please advise that the athlete is fully committed to the clinic and their personal development.
Apparel
All athletes will be required to wear a t-shirt/tank, shorts, and cheer shoes/tennis shoes. Cheer shoes/tennis shoes must be new or freshly washed. Custom mats are used in the studio and no outdoor shoes are allowed on the mats. Please bring your new or freshly washed shoes to the clinic, do not wear them in. Once inside the clinic, time will be given for shoes to be put on and removed before leaving the clinic. This will ensure the cleanliness of the practice room.
Hair must be pulled back, out of your face, and secured. Please ensure cheer clothes are clean and the best hygiene practices are used.

Clinic Desciption
Beginner Cheer Motions – This clinic is designed to teach the athlete proper placement and names of motions. Motions will be demonstrated and performed together. Once motions are learned we move into the tightness of the motions. We will finalize the clinic by putting the motions with cheers to show the full effect.
(Available for all skill levels. Must be 7 years old or older)
Polishing Cheer Motions – This clinic is for athletes who know their basic cheer motions or completed the “Beginner Cheer Motions” clinic the day before. This clinic will move through more complicated cheer motions alongside tightness and proper technique. This will be accompanied by more advanced cheers with multiple body functions. Cheers taught will have advanced cheer move flows with feet/body movements.
(Available for moderate to advanced skill levels. Must be 10 years old or older)
Beginner Jumps – This clinic will start by educating the proper ways to stretch for jumps. The athlete will learn a variety of basic jumps and their proper names. Jumps will be demonstrated and performed as a team. By the end of the clinic, the athletes should know the base-level jumps. The athletes will be educated on jump counts and proper body placement in the air.
(Available for all skill levels. Must be 7 years old or older)
Advanced Jumps – This clinic is for athletes who know their cheer jumps and can perform them well. This clinic will focus more on the science of the body to gain additional height while jumping. The count and jump will be broken down to determine the needed changes to get a higher/even better jump. We will jump as a team and as individuals in this clinic. This will allow each athlete to know how to advance their jump specifically.
(Available for moderate to advanced skill levels. Must be 10 years old or older)
Multiple Jump Sequence - This clinic is for athletes who know their cheer jumps and can perform them well. This clinic will focus more on the science of the body to gain additional momentum and height for jump sequences. The counts and jumps will be broken down to determine the needed changes to get a higher/better jump sequence. We will jump as a team and as individuals in this clinic. This will allow each athlete to know how to advance their jump sequence specifically.
(Available for moderate to advanced skill levels. Must be 10 years old or older)
Beginner Cheer Dance – This clinic will educate the athlete on cheer dance counts and moves. They will be taught a dance with several counts. This will ensure the athlete learns how to put moves to counts. Once the cheer dance has been learned alongside counts, music will be added. Athletes will learn how to count alongside music for the dance.
(Available for all skill levels. Must be 7 years old or older)
Advanced Cheer Dance – This clinic is for athletes who already know dance counts and have learned several dances before. This dance clinic will teach an advanced dance with many counts. Each dance clinic will be teaching a different dance.
(Available for moderate to advanced skill levels. Must be 10 years old or older)
